Ali Sulley Muntari was born on August 27th, 1984 in Konongo, Ghana. Sulley plays football for Portsmouth F.C. in England and is a central midfielder but has also played left midfielder. Ali Sulley Muntari, as of March 2008 has thirty-eight caps and eleven goals for Ghana. When Ali Sulley Muntari was playing for the Liberty Professionals in Accra, it first became obvious that he was a talented football player with a possible professional career ahead of him. Despite his young age, Ali Sulley Muntari became a member of Ghana’s U-20 team at the mere age of 16. The Ghanaian U-20 team finished runner-up at the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship in Argentina, losing out in the final round. In 2001, Ali Sulley Muntari joined Udinese and spent the first season in the reserves, only making his debut in November 2002 against AC Milan.

Rafael Márquez Álvarez (born on 13 Feb 1979, in Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico) is a Mexican footballer best known as one of the players for the Spanish La Liga club FC Barcelona, where he plays on the Centre back position. Since his 2003 debut in Barcelona he scored 8 goals in over 150 appearances, and has won La Liga three times (seasons 2004-05, 2005-06, and 2008-09).
Márquez was selected by coach Ricardo Lavolpe in the 23 Mexican squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. During the World Cup tournament, Márquez played in all four matches, and scored the lone Mexican goal in a 2-1 loss to Argentina in the Round of 16. Since Mexico's second round exit, he has spoken out about the need to encourage future Mexican football players to play in Europe to increase the competitiveness of the team.
